Mitsubishi Electric donates Photovoltaic Education Kits to the Japanese International School in Düsseldorf

Mitsubishi Electric has recently donated three photovoltaic education kits, which demonstrate how solar energy is generated, to the Japanese International School in Düsseldorf. The aim is that by experimenting with these working models the pupils will understand more about how solar power is created by using photovoltaic cells.

As part of its ‘Environmental Vision 2021' which marks the 100th anniversary of the company's founding, Mitsubishi Electric has set its own targets to help develop a sustainable society. These long-term initiatives include measures to help prevent global warming and to establish recycling in our society. The philosophy of this vision "making contributions to the Earth and its people though technology and action" is reinforced through social responsibility, and by educating future generations.

Mitsubishi Electric who are an international high-tech company, understand that renewable energies are an important part of the research and development required to achieve this vision. "It is important that we teach our children as soon as possible how to take care of the precious resources of our earth" says Noriaki Himi, President of Mitsubishi Electric's German branch, based in Ratingen. "These education kits have been provided to demonstrate to the pupils in a practical way how to generate solar energy".

Mitsubishi Electric has supported the Japanese International School, founded in 1971 in Düsseldorf-Niederkassel, for many years. In 2005 the company installed a comprehensive alarm security system.
