M-ACE achieves EMAS registration
In August 2010 Mitsubishi Electric Air-Conditioning Systems Europe (M-ACE) successfully achieved registration to the EC Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
EMAS is a voluntary Environmental Management System (EMS) designed to recognise proactive organisations that go beyond expected environmental laws, as well as constantly improving the way they interact with the environment.
A requirement of the scheme is that participating organisations produce an annual public environmental statement reporting their environmental performance.
This voluntary publication of environmental information, whose accuracy and reliability has been independently checked by an environmental verifier, gives EMAS and participating organisations enhanced credibility and recognition.
The award applies to the Mitsubishi Electric manufacturing site in Livingston, Scotland, and will be reviewed and audited on an annual basis.
